Famous Atriums

Probably because of its elegant and “delightful” appearance, the Atrium is considered by many as one of their most sought-after parts in a hotel. Sometimes, others brand it as their primary factor in choosing a specific hotel to stay in.

One of the most famous Atriums in the world is found in Dubai's Burj Al Arab hotel. Aside from being known as the lone hotel in the world with a 7-star standard, Burj Al Arab houses the world's tallest Atrium. Standing for about 180 meters or 590 ft. tall, it has been said that the hotel's Atrium can fit the 38-floored Dubai World Trade Center Building inside it.

Another famous Atrium is the one found inside the Luxor Hotel, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Luxor Hotel's Atrium is known as the world's largest Atrium measuring for about 29 million cubic feet (820,000 m³). The Atrium level of the hotel houses an IMAX theater, the “Atrium showroom,” King Tut Museum of replicas, and other regular exhibits.

Aside from hotels, the Central District of Hongkong is also famous for the Atriums in its malls. Shopping Atriums found in the city are marbled to perfection.

Another notable Atrium is found in the Federation Square (Fed Square), a cultural precinct in Melbourne, Australia. The space, called “The Atrium” is 5-stories in height and is constructed with glazed walls and roof.
